Administrative Assistant (Part-Time / Full-Time)
Every Bean Counts is an established accounting and bookkeeping company with an office in South Edmonton.
This opportunity is part-time in the summer and full-time during tax season (February through April). Full-time work is available year-round for the right individual.

Candidates
The team at Every Bean Counts is seeking an organized go-getter to manage their office. This includes interacting with clients in a friendly and professional manner, dealing with deadlines, and assisting with a wide range of day to day office affairs.
As an Administrative Assistant, you will be the first point of contact for many clients. Excellent telephone and conversational skills are a must. You will be able to deal with confidential records and show great attention to details. You will be working with CRA forms, and need to obtain basic knowledge of tax forms. Duties will include filing and sorting of papers, as well as e-filing or mailing documents as required.
Our green office is devoted to becoming as paperless as possible. Your excellent computer skills will be extremely useful for you as you learn to use a variety of computer programs.
Responsibilities
As our Administrative Assistant you will be responsible for all aspects of running an efficient office. You will be involved in the bookkeeping process, so interest in this field would be a plus. Responsibilities include:
- Answering telephones and greeting clients
- Sorting and scanning of client records
- Set-up appointments and manage records
- Work closely with accounting and bookkeeping staff
- Have, or be willing to learn a basic understanding of bookkeeping
- Respond to correspondence from the client and CRA
- Gaining a knowledge of tax forms and learning how to process them
- Sending out client letters
- Sending out statements and handling collections
- General office maintenance, including light tidying.
- Keeping the office organized

You will be involved in the bookkeeping process, so interest in this field would be a plus. Responsibilities include:

- Setup appointments and manage records
- Keeping the office organized
- Work closely with accounting and bookkeeping staff
- Have, or be willing to learn a basic understanding of bookkeeping
- General office maintenance, including light tidying.
- Ability to meet deadlines
- Ability to report to managers on a regular basis
- Respond to correspondence from the client and CRA
- Sending out client letters
- Sending out statements and handling collections
Requirements
- Experience in a professional environment is an asset
- Intermediate to advanced computer skills as this office is working at being paperless
- Ability to learn quickly and possessing a good memory and excellent organizational skills
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Staying well organized while handling a wide variety of duties and deadlines
- You must enjoy learning and take initiative to seek and accept additional responsibilities
- Good time management skills
- Must be extremely efficient and detail conscious for all areas of the job
- Experience working with QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel are an asset
- Excellent communication skills with co-workers and clients
- You must be able to work on your own and in groups
- We will require professionalism in dress, speech, and attitude
- You must be punctual
- Two work related references from a supervisor
- At least one year experience in an office setting
Compensation
In addition to working with some great people, and flexible hours, compensation will range from $15 to $18 per hour based on experience. We also offer a private medical plan.
